Formulation of aesthetic theory and principles of criticism applied to the dramatic form. Three class hours.

An introduction to the major dialects employed by the actor and performer. Using the International Phonetic Alphabet, the student will be introduced to the Standard English, American Southern, Irish, French, Italian, Scots and Brooklynese dialects. Transcriptions and oral presentations. Three class hours.
